Bijanbari Degree College (BDC) was founded on 4th November 1995 after a concerted effort by the people of Bijanbari town. The college is located midway from Bijanbari and Kaijalay and is set against the backdrop of lush and beautiful green hills with intermittent fields.
The college caters to the higher education needs of students from various tea gardens like Chong Tong, Marybong and other rural villages that line across the valleys of the Darjeeling hills.
The college presently offers three year undergraduate courses on Bachelor of Arts (B.A) General in the subjects of Economics, History, English, Nepali and Political Science. There are plans to introduce Honours and other vocational courses very soon.
